Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. Her first Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across stage film and television and she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is in the production for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. It will also be available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton is directing the show. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. For two seasons, she was the main character of CBS's hit series B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Her additional Broadway roles includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing the time in Los Angeles and New York.
